Bulbophyllum falcatum is native to Tropical Western Africa. These orchids are found in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Cameroon, as well as in the Congo, Uganda and Principe. It is found growing at altitudes of 300 to 900 meters. It is a hot growing to warm, epiphyte or occasional lithophyte, usually not exceeding 10 cm in height. This plant will usually bloom winter to spring and will produce a flower spike between 6-7" inches long. The flowers are small, about 1.2 cm long, with an unpleasant smell. You are browsing on a near blooming size plant (about 1 year from blooming). These plants are about 2-3 years old and are very well established.
